what to pack for mauritius 6
Freedom. Fun. Bohemia. Mauritius

It would be an understatement to say that the sugarcane fields of Mauritius form the perfect backdrop for a day out on the island.

We couldn’t resist stopping by one such field while driving to a restaurant in South Mauritius. The next few hours were a blur of music, chasing the sun, turquoise arm cuffs, feathered necklaces, mid-day beers, and mucky shoes.  Yep those shoes aren’t meant for detours involving farmland 😉

On the other hand, this tie-n-dye kimono is made for frolicking in fields. The maxi length provides visual interest and adds volume. I wore it with a pair of black shorts and a lacy white top. The fuschia shoes and green sunglasses reinforce the colours of the maxi kimono. Adding a dozen bangles and miscellaneous necklaces is always a no-brainer in my books (Hop over to this post if you don’t believe me!).

  1. Amazing how you pick something as impossible as those shoes and make them look so good! I can safely say that about the Kimono too. Very creative & fabulous results. 🙂
