Something different today- this outfit is a bit of a flea-market mélange. I wore this light, airy kaftan on our last day in Lanzarote. It has a rough, home-spun feel to it and I love its unrefined aesthetic.

I know a lot of people love minimalistic outfits, but I’m definitely not one of them – I feel incomplete if I’m not wearing something bright, embellished, or tasselled. So what do I do when faced with a bright kaftan? Not satiated with a smattering of every colour of the rainbow on said kaftan, I accessorize it with lots of necklaces and arm candy from my bohemian armory (aka jewellery stash) 🙂

I picked up the purple and orange shell necklace (a favourite) from Marrakech and the silver-coloured necklace is from a flea-market in New Delhi. This is my favourite kind of outfit because it makes me dream about exploring ethnic cultures and unknown destinations.

My hair was a right mess because of beach-side humidity (can’t complain!), and I have zero patience with fiddly hair tools. So I decided to just bunch it up in a scarf. Seeing as we were so close to Africa, I went for a tribal-inspired print. So this look is all about embracing (frizzy-haired) imperfection and making the best of it 🙂
