Hola earthlings- how are you?

We Londoners don’t get to say this often but it is super hot in our city at the moment. I’m not talking heat that makes one want to prance amidst golden grass, wearing floral crowns and rocking wavy hair. I’m talking heat that knocks the living daylights out of people, makes English houses seem claustrophobic, and makes one want to bunch one’s hair out of the way, fashion be damned. Not sounding pleasant is it?

But then along comes an outfit – one that doesn’t need floral crowns or wavy hair or elaborate accessories – an outfit that makes one comfortable enough to put the smile back on one’s face. Suddenly the heat-wave doesn’t seem so bad.

Start with the shortest shorts you can find. I opted for my black high-waisted city shorts. They’re perfect for a variety of outfits; they work equally well with a blazer for office and an oversized shirt for a laid-back day in the city. Here I combined them with a basic white vest. For a bit of colour, I added a lightweight chiffon kimono featuring an all-over print. The oversized ‘peace’ earrings reinforce the bohemian vibe of the kimono and the gold-coloured sling bag completes this outfit.

With an outfit like that, your comatose self will be thinking about ice-lollies and summer-fruit cocktails in no time ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Hi Savi. You look great in the pictures, as always. ๐Ÿ™‚ I really like the look. Very easy, breezy, comfy, wearable and yet subtly makes a statement. You have a thing for gold accents, don’t you?
