Do you remember how we ate enough to sink a ship in Italy?

It is all very well to swoon over warm Foccacia and Genovese Pesto, but let me tell you something – decadent Italian food does no favours to ones wardrobe.Β I promise you this – a week of savouring Italian delicacies will leave your jeans feeling snugger and dresses feeling tighter than usual. So what’s a girl gotta do? Give up the antipasti and apertifs? Starve to fit into a dress? No way!

I have a better solution – give in to gluttony and pick a dress that covers a multitude of sins. After all, you’re on holiday!

This might be why I am so fond of Maxi Dresses πŸ˜‰ I chose a bright maxi dress for our whirlwind tour of Genoa’s trattorias and gelaterias. This dress is pleated all the way through. The vivid colours make it quite a bold piece so I stuck to simple accessories – a black bag, mirrored gold aviators, and chunky gold earrings. I pulled my hair in a top-knot to keep it out the way and pulled the whole look together with a waist-cinching black and gold belt.

And that is how you set the stage for culinary indulgence- tadaaa

  1. Love how almost all titles of the blog-are alliterative-good ol’ habits :). I love love this look..:) Also I think maxi dresses flatter a particular body type- ‘the tall-slim one’ ,isn’t it?? Saviiiii…suggest some for the not-so tall πŸ˜‰

    1. Tall slim- er there’s noone like that around here Ratika πŸ˜‰ I think maxi dresses look nice on everyone. I’m no expert, but try a bandeau-style maxi-dress, it will elongate your torso and make you look taller

  2. I like the vibrant hue of the maxi dress….but the earring and the belt is what i have set my eyes on….overall amazing look…u can pull of anything, don’t u πŸ™‚

    1. Anu thank you for indulging me so much. To be fair, a maxi dress is probably the easiest thing in the world to pull off πŸ™‚
