1. See The Needles Rocks
The Needles Rocks is possibly the most iconic attraction in the Isle of Wight, and it’s definitely worth a visit when you go. Grab a bird’s eye view of the landmark by taking a stair lift from the cliff to the beach below and take it all in. There are lots to do and see when you get there too, including music performances, shops and firework nights.
2. The coloured sand shop
One of the shops mentioned above at The Needles Rocks is the sand shop, and that’s definitely our favourite. Take home a souvenir with a huge difference from this little shop, as you can purchase coloured sand and even make your own layered designs in their special bottles!
3. Blackgang Chine Theme Park
Blackgang Chine is dubbed as the ‘land of imagination’, and it certainly will delight the kids. Complete with different-themed parks including the dinosaur land, pirate cove and fairy land, there’s something for each child of the family. You can find out more and even book tickets online too.
4. Isle of Wight Zoo
This family-run zoo is a must for animal lovers. Located on one of the Isle of Wight’s most idyllic beaches – Sandown – the zoo was first most famous for the fact that the owners used to walk the tiger cubs on the beach! As well as all the incredible animals to see, there’s the ‘Zootique’ souvenir shop at the zoo, too.
5. Seaview Wildlife Encounter
Ranked Number 1 out of 98 Isle of Wight Attractions on Trip Advisor, the Seaview Wildlife Encounter encourages guests to join in with the nine daily wildlife events that are led by an animal care team who deliver fun hands-on presentations and will introduce you to the most amazing tame feathered and furry friends!
6. Godshill Model Village
The Model Village in Godshill is a 1/10th scale version of the village of Godshill and Shanklin Old Village and chine, two of the oldest tourist areas on the Isle of Wight. After wondering around and taking in all the minuscule and marvellous sights, you can stop of at the cafe or shop for a cuppa and souvenir.
7. A day at the beach
There are some truly stunning beaches in the Isle of Wight, with great hotels along the seafront for those beautiful views. Therefore if you’re going to the Isle of Wight this summer, you won’t be disappointed that you haven’t left the UK when it comes to beaches.
8. Osborne House
No trip to the island would be complete without a visit to this royal seaside palace where Queen Victoria lived with her beloved Prince Albert and their nine children. Admire the stunning view from the terraces across the Solent – said to remind Prince Albert of the bay of Naples – and stroll through Osborne’s extensive grounds.
