Ladakh is like nowhere I’ve been before – rows upon rows of prayer flags, glinting lagoons, snow-capped peaks, red-cheeked kids, handsome yaks and horses in the wild, and scattered sunbeams that lend an air of magic to the proceedings. It’s a secret oasis of happiness 🙂
Life is busy (sometimes a bit too busy) but Ladakh’s landscapes force one to take a step back and relish entire nights under star-laden skies or spend days cavorting in barren plateaux.
In keeping with this I packed clothes that meld with Ladakh’s obscure panoramas – breezy jumpsuits, bohemian skirts meant for twirling, and lush silks with pops of burgundy and charcoal that ended up complementing the rugs and tapestries at our glamping site in Ladakh. I also packed a host of woollens for when there was a nip in the air – down jackets, pastel beanies, candy-coloured coats, and pinafore dresses (I’m having a bit of a moment with them) 🙂
This lookbook is meant to provide some inspiration to you before you set off on your road trip to Ladakh. In addition to the items listed in the article below, don’t forget to pack travel SPF and an ultra nourishing lip balm because Ladakh’s weather and searing sun can leave your skin feeling parched and lips burnt. I used a Kiehl’s sunscreen and Nuxe’s Reve de miel lip balm in Ladakh

I am planning to go to Ladakh this september. Unfortunately, i cant afford road trips because of my backache problem. I’ll be flying to Leh and then explore the places that you’ve mentioned here. Is september good time to visit Ladakh? My partner is an experienced rider so we are planning to hire bike once we reach there. How will that be? Are roads good enough for biking?

September should be a great time to visit the region. You’ll have a great time riding there. The roads are in excellent condition (might be a bit patchy on the way to Nubra and Pangong but otherwise great).

OMG ! Loved the colours…each and every snap, how candid the pictures are ! I am planning end of June next year, came across this post once again.
Not planning to travel this year due to a a major surgery.
Any idea, do we have to carry much woollens or mild warm clothes would do ? Also, please suggest how can we book camps near Pan-gong ? Thanks much. 🙂

It’s always better to carry woollens as it can get quite cold in some places in June. Not sure about the camps – we stayed in Pangong Inn which is a basic hotel.

Hi Savi and Vid. I am planning to travel to Ladakh from 10-16 July 2021. Wanted to know the blog that you have written above is for which month you travelled to Ladakh? I am a bit confused now, I saw that during the days that I am planning, the weather forecast says that it will be around 17 degrees. So should I carry light woollens only or mix of light woollens for high altitudes and nights and some summer clothes too?
